East (Oost)

Among young people, the East is a very popular place that offers affordable living options. Its multi-cultural background is reflected in places like Dappermarket, a street market where you can find almost everything. There are few traditional sites, but modern architecture such as the Python Bridge are well worth the look!

But is the search for these things takes a lot of time? Definitely not assignment expert .

IJburg

Description

IJburg_map_flatgenieIJburg is Amsterdam’s youngest district and is home to nearly 20,000 residents. It’s friendly and safe area, both quiet and calm. The three main islands that make up IJburg were artificially built in the Ijsselmeer lake and grew out of Amsterdam’s need for modernization and as an answer to well known housing shortages. They are interconnected with each other and the city by various walking/cycling bridges.

As an individual urban area, IJburg combines the latest developments in the concept of modern living, with multi-story buildings and individual housing surrounded by water and a strong sea breeze. Housing on the island is available to a diverse population and attracts middle to high income families. The islands are ideal for people who love a combination of nature, modern architecture, water activities, good restaurants, and hip shops.

Zeeburg

Description

zeeburg_map_flatgenieZeeburg has been part of Amsterdam Oost since 1990 and home to over 52,000 residents. It is a fairly new neighborhood, surrounded by water (and the views that come with) and close to Amsterdam’s city centre,- a both lively and friendly district. It holds many places to go for a quick bite or a cosy dinner, contains two large parks, Flevopark and Diemerpark (twice as big as Vondelpark), and is somewhat close to Amsterdam Central by the Tram 10 or Tram 26. Zeeburg is also renowned for its open and friendly camping place that offers tents and tourist housing for people from all over the world.

Living in Zeeburg means a twist of the old traditional Dutch housing with streetscapes and buildings. Zeeburg, as one of the most rapidly growing boroughs of Amsterdam, offers open space and freedom. Districts such as Oostelijk Havengebied, suited for upper classes, has an urban character with some of the highest densities in the country, and the Indische Buurt (Indian Colony), suited for working classes, has a large immigrant background.
